Introduction to the Hemisphere Project

REP is committed to supporting all Redbridge pupils to be successful learners and enabling school staff teams to acquire the relevant up to date knowledge and skills to be able to do the very best for their pupils.

For a number of years, we have put the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI ) agenda at the top of our priorities and sourced research and training that has enabled us to reflect over our practice to seek improvements, learn about the ‘lived’ experiences of our pupils whose heritage originates from the world beyond the United Kingdom, empathise with our pupils, families and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and strive to break down barriers to learning for all our pupils.

The Hemisphere Project is one such way of whole staff teams in REP schools to be able to raise their own awareness of the backgrounds of our school intakes to deliver and resource a curriculum that is relevant to all our pupils and challenges unconscious bias including our own and challenges our thinking and that of our learners.

All member schools can participate in the project at no cost and will receive all training, resources and ongoing support from the Hemisphere team.
